In recent days, almost all the media have been covering the recent fatal incident involving Vangelis Giakoumakis. In these reports, several non-specialists express their views on, among other things, the manner of this death and the instrument used. It is therefore particularly important, for the public to be properly informed, that some scientifically documented observations be put forward.
First of all, it must be stressed that the specialist scientist called upon by law to provide answers in such cases is the forensic pathologist. Since from the outset this case was described as a possible death by knife, we will attempt to set out some general forensic observations about such cases.
