A 25-year-old Greek man from Mytilene went through three nightmarish years, about one of them in prison, before he proved that a Bulgarian woman’s rape complaint against him was false.
The trial at the Mixed Jury Court of Chios last week turned into a painful but liberating hearing, as the alleged rapist was unanimously acquitted.
The forensic examination of the complainant proved decisive for the outcome of the case, shedding light on the unclear points of the complaint and ultimately exposing the woman’s lies.
