Violence against women is taking on ever greater dimensions in Greece too, with gender-based crimes such as sexual assault, rape and domestic violence on the rise. Women’s fundamental rights to dignity, equality and access to Justice continue to be violated, while the economic crisis is making the situation even worse.
Violence knows no age or social class and is always experienced in the same way, while silence and endurance are the usual ways of coping with violation and abuse.
